Every young person should be able to build resilience and positive wellbeing, while also being able to access timely help and support when facing physical or mental health challenges.
In a mental health crisis, every minute counts. But too many young people are being left to struggle alone for months.
This month, we are encouraging people to sign an open letter from Emily, a young person who is using her experience of mental health struggles to campaign for better mental health services for young people.
Read her story below and sign her open letter to the Government, urging them to make mental and physical health and wellbeing a priority and ensure young people get the early intervention they need so that Emily’s story is not the norm.
We realise that capacity is extremely tight across the board and have pulled together an activity calendar consisting of one key social media post each week.
View the activity calendar assets here.
Calendar of social media activity
Week 1: Thursday 9 May – Post 01
Week 2: Thursday 16 May – Post 02
Week 3: Thursday 23 May – Post 03
Week 4: Thursday 30 May – Post 04
Additional messaging and assets are also available for use throughout the month of May where teams are able, but if each YMCA could commit to posting the below in support of our Wellbeing theme it would go a long way.
With early intervention, Emily’s story could have been so different. Join Emily and sign her open letter to Rishi Sunak.
