Central & Anglia Fund

What is the Central & Anglia Fund?

The trustees of the Central and Anglia Trust Fund welcome applications, especially from groups of young people undertaking YMCA projects in their area – namely the counties of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Huntingdonshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Metropolitan District of West Midlands, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Suffolk and Warwickshire.

Applications are especially welcomed from groups of young people within YMCAs for activities that encourage engagement and participation.

Wherever possible, the Trustees of the YMCA Central and Anglia Trust Fund will, in addition to the usual grants programme, set aside funds to support the participation of young people (staff, volunteers, and participants) in national and international events, such as National or European Assembly or a World Council.

Grants will not usually exceed 90% of the cost of the project and can be for up to a maximum of £1,000.

To qualify for a grant the beneficiaries must be young people aged 9 – 30 and the project should meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Provision of training in skills or knowledge directly related to the needs of those aged 9 – 30.
  • A Christian spiritual purpose
  • A national or international experience
  • Have a clear focus on young people in governance and/or leadership
  • Adventure training or camp experiences
  • Improved personal or social relationships
  •

The application must be submitted at least four weeks before the activity takes place. Under exceptional circumstances a less than four-week period may be considered. It will not be possible for the Trustees to consider applications for grants for activities that have already taken place.

A YMCA can usually apply for maximum grant support of £1,000 in any 12 month period.

Applications should be sent to Andy Winter by e-mail at [email protected]. Please read the criteria on the application form to check that your project will qualify for support. The application form can be found here.
